The Certified International Investment Analyst (CIIA) is an internationally recognized professional certification for investment professionals. According to Article 13 of the Regulations Governing the Qualification Examination and Recognition of Securities Investment Consultant Personnel, obtaining the CIIA qualification allows applicants to convert it into a domestic Securities Investment Analyst license. The CIIA is recognized by 32 member and partner countries, including Europe, Japan, and South Korea. The Professional Risk Managers’ International Association (PRMIA) in the U.S. also recognizes the CIIA certificate; passing the CIIA exam exempts candidates from PRM Exam 1. Additionally, CIIA holders are eligible to engage in business designated by the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).
-
The CIIA exam consists of Foundation Level and Final Level exams. Candidates who pass the Foundation Level may proceed to the Final Level. Those who pass both levels and have three years of relevant work experience can obtain the internationally recognized CIIA certification.
-
The CIIA Foundation Level exam is open to all candidates, uses Chinese-language exam questions, and provides Chinese study materials and past exam papers for reference. A special student promotion is currently available: university and graduate students who register for all three Foundation Level subjects receive a NT$2,000 discount on the registration fee. In addition, a rewards program is offered: candidates who pass all three Foundation Level subjects in one attempt and rank in the top three overall will receive one free attempt at the CIIA Final Exam. The Foundation Level exam brochure and DM are attached for reference. For more information, faculty and students may visit the Foundation’s website at: https://www.sfi.org.tw/ → Exams & Recruitment / International Certifications / CIIA.

Obtaining the internationally recognized CIIA certification helps students enhance their employability and provides practical advantages for future careers in the financial sector, both domestically and internationally. We kindly ask departments to promote the CIIA exam and encourage faculty and students to register actively.
