To advance the Ministry of Education’s Higher Education Sprout Project, the College of Management at Asia University is actively promoting a culture of deep reading and held a book donation ceremony today.
Dean Ming-Hui Chen emphasized that in today’s fast-changing information age, deep reading is essential for cultivating students’ communication skills, independent thinking, critical reflection, and cross-disciplinary integration. Beyond surface-level understanding, deep reading encourages questioning, guiding students to internalize knowledge, sharpen observation, and strengthen problem-solving.
At the start of the 2025 academic year, the College launched the Deep Reading Faculty Community, with seven seed teachers already on board and a planned reading program for the semester. Through reading strategies and group interaction, deep reading is being integrated into student life.
This initiative was made possible thanks to the generous donation of books from alumna Mei-Yu Shuai (EMBA Class of 2017). In her remarks, she highlighted the value of reading in everyday life and expressed her commitment to giving back to her alma mater. Dean Chen expressed sincere gratitude on behalf of the College and noted the establishment of a “Deep Reading Book Collection” to provide sustainable access for faculty and students.
The College will continue to promote diverse deep reading activities, encouraging participation and fostering a lasting culture of reading.
