With extensive teaching experience and real-world examples, Professor Hsu guided attendees through the essentials of effective communication and interaction in EMI classrooms. Her energetic approach, moving through the audience and engaging students directly, created a lively and focused learning environment. She frequently posed questions and encouraged student input, fostering meaningful exchanges.
In post-event feedback, many participants shared that they not only gained practical EMI strategies, but also came to appreciate the deeper value of teaching with “love and respect.” One student remarked, “What I’ve learned goes beyond language skills—it’s about approaching every student with care and empathy. That’s the most valuable takeaway for my future teaching.”
The workshop was co-hosted by Asia University’s Bilingual Education Promotion Office and the NCHU EMI Teaching and Learning Center, as part of an ongoing effort to enhance the quality and warmth of EMI education in higher education.
