The Department of Finance, College of Management, recently held a welcome event for dual-degree international students at Asia University’s Smart Finance Center. More than 50 students from Thailand, Vietnam, Mongolia, and Indonesia participated, along with local students who joined in the fun and cross-cultural exchange.
Department Chair Dr. Ying-Li Lin stated that the event is organized annually to help international students quickly adapt to campus life at Asia University. The goal is to provide a warm, family-like atmosphere for students studying abroad and to foster friendships among peers from diverse cultural backgrounds, creating a joyful and inclusive learning environment.
Shinesaran Batjavkhaa from Mongolia shared that Asia University is a well-known and reputable institution internationally, offering both professional and aesthetically inspiring learning environments. She hopes more Mongolian students will come to Asia University to pursue dual-degree programs. Minjin Tumur-Ochi, also from Mongolia, mentioned that she has frequent interactions with local students and appreciates the enthusiasm and support from faculty members, which has opened up opportunities for multidimensional exchange. Faiz from Indonesia added that the Department of Finance offers highly professional, diverse, and engaging courses, complemented by an AI-based smart investment learning platform that allows students to acquire substantial financial knowledge.
Advisor for International Students, Dr. Chun-Ping Chang, noted that the department will continue to promote awareness of on-campus resources and encourage students to make full use of them. The department also provides guidance to help students obtain international professional certifications. To date, more than 30 graduates from the dual-degree program have successfully earned the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) credential.
